Garver caps career as 1st-Team NCAA III All-American

Ryan Garver capped off his amazing senior season as a First-Team NCAA Division III All-American when the 2019 D3hoops.com All-American team was released. This is the 22nd Annual D3hoops.com All-American team.

Garver (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Northeast HS) was one of five players selected to the NCAA III All-American First Team. He is the 5th player in NWU basketball history to garner 1st-Team All-American honors. The senior forward was named to the NABC All-American 2nd Team earlier.

Now a two-time All-American, Garver was the 2019 D3hoops.com West Region Player of the Year, a 1st-Team NABC All-District selection, 2019 American Rivers Conference MVP and Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He played in the NABC Division III All-Star game, was named to the national team of the week once and the conference player of the week four times as a senior.

Garver helped NWU to a No. 1 ranking for all but one week of the regular season leading the Prairie Wolves to a 27-2 overall record. He averaged 15.9 points per game, led the country at 7.7 assists per game and ranked fifth in the nation in steals at 2.9 a game. His shooting percentage of 62.9 percent ranked 17th in NCAA III.

As a senior he posted nine double-doubles with one triple double. Nine times he reached double figures in assists and ten times scored over 20 points in a game, highlighted by a career-high 33 points in A-R-C Tournament Championship game.

Garver leaves NWU as the school record holder for single season and career steals. He was fourth in career field goal percentage and eighth in career assists.
