Huskers score 17 runs in blowout win

The Nebraska baseball team erupted for 17 runs in a series-opening victory over Purdue Friday night. Mojo Hagge went 3-for-5 and Cam Chick hit his first career home run for the Huskers (15-9, 5-2).

Chick's blast highlighted a 7-run fifth inning. Jaxon Hallmark, Gunner Hellstrom, Mojo Hagge, Keegan Watson and Angelo Altavilla all delivered RBI hits in the frame. In total, 10 different Nebraska players recorded at least one hit.

On the mound, Matt Waldron pitched seven shutout innings. The senior righty struck out 9 batters to move into 8th place on the Nebraska's career strikeouts list.
