Luke Kluver says the final round of his high school career was a stressful one. The Norfolk senior, at one point, had four consecutive bogeys. But those scores didn't knock him too far down the leaderboard at the Class A Tournament.
Kluver remains toward the top and was able to close out his third NSAA championship on the 18th hole. Kluver hit an incredible approach shot from 50 yards, which rolled to within 2 feet of the pin. Kluver then rolled in a birdie putt and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
"This is a round that I can look back at and think I've learned something from it," Kluver said. The Norfolk senior finished 2-strokes-over par (74). Kluver edged Jacob Boor of Creighton Prep and Lincoln Southwest junior Josh Bartels.
Kluver and Bartels played alongside one another throughout the round while in the day's final pairing. Kluver and Bartels were tied heading to the final hole.
Creighton Prep won the team championship, while Lincoln Southwest was the runner-up.
