Mayson Conner finishes 12th in NCAA Outdoor Championships

AUSTIN, Texas- Nebraska added one first-team All-American, four second-team All-Americans and one honorable mention All-American on day three of the NCAA Championships on Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Chase Wolinski picked up first-team All-America honors, finishing fifth in the javelin with a throw of 176-4 (53.75m). It was Wolinski's first time competing at the NCAA Championships and gives the Nebraska women 182 all-time outdoor All-Americans. She was the first student-athlete to earn the honor since 2016, when Reka Czuth (high jump - 8th) and Tierra Williams (triple jump - 5th) received the accolade.

Brittni Wolczyk and Sydney Otto also competed in the javelin and became second-team All-Americans. It was Wolczyk's fourth-consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships and she finished 14th with a distance of 161-9 (49.30m). Otto placed 15th with a mark of 160-11 (49.05m) in her second appearance at the National Championships.

Mayson Conner earned second-team All-America honors in the high jump with a clearance of 7-1 3/4 (2.18m) to finish tied for 12th in his first time competing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Carlos Davis collected second-team All-America accolades in the discus, finishing 16th with a toss of 185-4 (56.51m). Khalil Davis was 23rd in the discus and picked up honorable mention honors with a throw of 168-7 (51.39m). It was the second appearance of Carlos at the NCAA Championships, while it was Khalil's first time throwing at the National Championships.

Friday concluded Nebraska's stay at the NCAA Championships and Husker student-athletes have now received a total of 641 first-team All-America awards across all competitions. (men and women, indoor and outdoor).
