LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Sun Valley Lanes will be the host center for a major Professorial Bowler's Association Event, the 2020 U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open requires it's participants to go through over 56 different games, whittling down the competition until only one champion remains. These participants are selected based on on-lane performances from the prior year. During the 2019 U.S. Open, 144 people are expected to participate in the completion.
The United States Bowling Congress worked with the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau in order to have the 2020 U.S. Open in Nebraska. Sun Valley Lanes, a 32-lane center, was originally the host center of the 2018 Intercollegiate Team and Singles Championship, the 2016 World Youth Championships and will host the 2019 Professional Women's Bowling Association.
The U.S. Open is a collaborative effort of the BPAA and USBC. The 2019 U.S. Open will take place Oct. 23-30 at Victory Lanes in Charlotte, North Carolina.
