Vedral tabbed #2 QB, Huskers ready for Buckeyes

The Nebraska Football team had a half-pad practice on Thursday, November 1st to get prepared to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday. Head Coach Scott Frost seemed pleased with his team's week of practice to get ready for the Buckeyes, and when asked if the team practiced better this week after a couple of wins, he didn't think it was much different from previous weeks.

"Nope, it's been business as usual guys are excited to play, had a good week, so we know we got a big challenge ahead of us, but I think our guys are excited to play this one and I think we're going to put our best effort out there."

Coach Frost also addressed the offensive line, and credited them for their improvement in recent weeks and has been very pleased with their play of late

"Offensive line's been getting better every week, I think our two young tackles have really grown up, Jerald and Tanner have done a good job for us, Boe has come in and really given us a spark plug, so those guys as a unit are playing pretty well, but we've been lucky we've stayed healthy at that position and Coach Austin is doing a great job with em so we couldn't be doing what we're doing on offense without those guys improving and playing well."

Also, Coach Frost confirmed the backup QB behind Adrian Martinez will be Noah Vedral going into Columbus.

"Right now it's Noah, and Bunchy's perfectly capable and ready to come in too, but I think going into the game it will be Noah."

Finally, Coach Frost sensed a different confidence in the team going into this road trip compared to the week of the Michigan game

"To be honest when we went up to Ann Arbor, I'm not sure the team thought they could win, I think they wanted to but I'm not sure deep down if some of the guys thought they could win. I think we have a team that's going up there thinking we got a chance if we play well and that's a big change in improvement, we're playing a really good team, we're going to have to play our absolute best to have a chance to beat them, but I think our mindset is in the right place."

Nebraska will take on Ohio State this Saturday, November 3rd. Kickoff is set for 11:00 AM and TV coverage is on Fox.
