At the midway point of the high school basketball season, the Waverly girls own an 11-0 record. The Vikings are the only remaining unbeaten team in Class B, and one of just four teams with a perfect record across the state.
The Vikings have a veteran roster with 7 seniors. Many of the upperclassmen have been playing together since middle school. Among the seniors is veteran guard Sydni Schernikau. Schernikau jokes her last name often gets mispronounced. 10/11 asked her teammates if they could spell Schernikau during a recent practice. Click on the video to see if they were successful!
