Waverly running back Caleb Canoyer has rushed for over 1,000 yards this season. So has Rhett Jordon. The Vikings seniors are a rare duo to each rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
The Canoyer-Jordon combo has turned Waverly into one of the top rushing teams in Class B. The seniors say they don't deserve all the credit, though. They believe the Vikings' veteran offensive line is why their run game is so successful. Waverly started four seniors up front, plus 240-pound freshman Trevor Brown.
Waverly plays at McCook in the Class B quarterfinals on Friday. The Vikings were eliminated from the playoffs by the Bison in 2017.
