Have you ever thought about entering the exciting world of dentistry? The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Dentistry offers students a unique learning environment with small class sizes, nationally renowned faculty, and cutting-edge learning technology.
Listen to what two second-year dental students had to say about their experience at the college and how they are training to provide patient care in their third and fourth years of dental school.
“In our Clinical and Virtual Simulation Lab, we get to work with very innovative technology, including the Simodonts, which use virtual reality to simulate how it will actually be to work in a patient’s mouth,” said Kimberly Shaw. “We use the Simodonts to practice procedures like restorations.”
“We build our clinical and hand skills in the Clinical and Virtual Simulation Lab. Right now, we’re practicing crowns and bridges. We work on mannequin heads on actual teeth and practice prepping those teeth,” said Laura Shaw. “This is the fun part of dental school, when learning is hands-on.”
Whatever your passion is in dentistry, the UNMC College of Dentistry is the key to opening the door toward your new career!
