Bottle Rocket Brewing Co. helps Seward tap into its history, patriotic spirit

A Burwell teacher and Daughter of the American Revolution is sharing her family’s Revolutionary War history with students as the nation marks 250 years.

July 4, 1973 - Seward was designated “Nebraska’s Official Fourth of July City” by Governor J. James Exon in 1973.

Independence Day celebrations started a day early in 1901, when a display of fireworks at H. Hardy’s Ninety-nine Cent Store in Omaha was lit by a dropped match.

A $12 million grant was awarded to UNMC/Nebraska Medicine in collaboration with Emory University in Atlanta and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City.
