LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - As the first week of the 109th Legislative Session begins, the Nebraska Farm Bureau is laying out its legislative priorities for the year.

Nebraska Farm Bureau President Mark McHargue addressed what the bureau hopes to prioritize this year in a video, including lowering the property tax burden, expanding agricultural opportunities in the state —specifically in the livestock industry — and expanding the ethanol sector.

McHargue also encouraged residents to reach out to their state senators to advocate for legislative changes within the agriculture industry.

“Your story is critical as we go through this legislative session,” McHargue said.
