Lincoln Public Schools hosts biannual student vote event

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — While Election Day is one week away, students at Lincoln Public Schools will be participating in the biannual student vote event.

The school district has done this event since 1992. It’s part of the district’s mission to prepare all students for civic engagement.

Student vote offers kids in grades 4-12 the chance to participate in a mock election using a similar local ballot that voters in Lincoln will see on Nov. 3.

Students also were provided a voter guide which shows the candidates they can vote for along with a little info about them.

They also will vote on the constitutional question of whether term limits for state legislators should be increased.

Election results will be published at about 4:30 p.m.
